sitting with nature by Lisa Keaveney
I had an amazing week of learning last week thanks to The Shift Network’s Summit on Empaths, Sensitives, and Intuitives. The Shift has free summits about every other month on a plethora of topics. I get so much information when I attend them online. There are a lot of experts and speakers who are interviewed, Monday through Friday starting at noon and ending at 7 pm EST.
These summits spark me to do my internal work. Why should we do internal work? I ask myself this a lot. Wouldn’t it just be easier to plod through life without all this woo-woo mumbo jumbo? It’s a choice we all can make.
We are complicated beings and carry a lot of stuff from lifetime to lifetime. We can choose to just let it ride and take life as it comes or work through it, heal it and move into a happier freer space.
Scientists are discovering that we carry genetic DNA for past and future generations but they are also learning that we can change our genetic makeup, this is called Epigenetics and is a legit scientific discovery!
What this means is that we can do this internal work and help heal not only ourselves but our ancestors AND our future relations!
Empaths, sensitives, and intuitives have a hard time with self-care and self-healing concepts. We are in careers like primary and bedside health care, childcare, and elder care… Catch a theme here? We want to take care of others. There is NOTHING wrong with this, but we can also be in dead-end jobs, abusive situations, and just have “bad luck” in our lives. That is why it is so important to learn how to care for ourselves first, so we are able the care for others.
I learned that self-care is not (but can include) massages, manis and pedis, etc like most of society thinks self-care is. self-care for empaths, sensitive, and intuitives is soul care, diving into our muck and healing it.
We can remove ourselves for a bit from life even if it’s 5 minutes with our bare feet in the grass in the backyard with our eyes closed and just focusing on our breathing or we can meditate, journal, or find a mentor to help us through difficult areas.
Analogy time; driving a car. You need to make sure the seat, steering wheel, and mirrors are adjusted for you so you can drive a car safely and make sure there is enough fuel in the tank so you can get to where you want to go. If you get in the car after a 6 ft 5 in person drove the car without adjusting everything, you are not safe to drive when everything is discombobulated and out of sorts. If they used all the fuel, you will not be able to get anywhere.
I understand life is not all rainbows and unicorns all the time. How we choose to live this life is our choice, after all, we have free will. Do you choose to adjust and fuel up or just go as is with whatever amount of fuel you have?
This is your choice moment by moment. There are people here who can and will support you. Use your intuition to tell you if they mean well or not. Some beings will help from beyond, heaven, the other side or dimension (whatever you want to call it) who are willing to help also, just ask.
Ultimately the choice is yours, free will and all. I hope you enjoyed this read and maybe it sparked questions. If so, I would be happy to answer questions, point you in a direction, or just be a board to bounce ideas off of. Thanks for being here and reading this. Blessed be.
